Powers: Unknown at this time.

Character Biography: Mr. Bennet, also known as HRG (Horn-Rimmed Glasses) works for an unnamed, secretive organization responsible for locating and monitoring superhuman phenomena. Mr. Bennet has had this job for a number of years, since before the adoption of his daughter Claire Bennet 14 years ago. Claire was left orphaned after a tragic mishap. It is unclear whether her brother Lyle is adopted also, as the Bennets were having trouble conceiving around the time of Claire’s adoption. Nobody is aware of HRG’s real profession except for his colleagues. His “headquarters” conveniently double as the place of his cover job at Primatech Paper. His cover came in very handy when he would go on “business trips” to places like India and New York City.

About six months prior to the main events, a genetics researcher by the name of Chandra Suresh would contact Mr. Bennet in regard to his daughter Claire. Due to the circumstances, Mr. Bennet had always been aware of Claire’s “genetic abnormality” and certainly didn’t want anyone else finding out. After a brief visit to New York City, Mr. Bennet would plant the recently recruited Eden McCain as Chandra’s next-door neighbor. There, she would be able to use her powers of Mind Control to have Chandra remove Claire’s name from the list. It would seem that Eden succeeded, as the man known as “Sylar” would end up going after the wrong cheerleader several months later. Sylar murders Chandra and is able to use all of his research to locate the others. After Chandra’s death, Mr. Bennet keeps Eden in New York City to monitor Chandra’s son, Mohinder Suresh, who had just arrived there.

After many inquiries by Claire into her birth parents, a curious Mr. Bennet begins looking into why she started asking. He finds out that she has discovered her powers, and even made videotapes of them with her friend Zach. Mr. Bennet sets up a shammed meeting with her “biological parents,” Hank and Lisa, and a very underwhelmed and disappointed Claire is led to believe that her parents are completely normal, and frankly very boring. It is presumed that HRG has asked his colleagues to do him this favor to prevent Claire from inquiring into her real parents any further. “Lisa” is also briefly seen again when she bumps into HRG at “Primatech Paper.”

Aside from the surveillance of Chandra and Mohinder Suresh, Mr. Bennet has also overseen the abduction of officer Matt Parkman and congressional candidate Nathan Petrelli, both of whom have superpowers. After the subjects were abducted and tested, their memories of the abduction would be erased by The Haitian, an associate of Mr. Bennet’s. However, Nathan Petrelli was able to escape and still has full recollection of the event.

Just recently, HRG also used Eden to bring the precognitive painter Isaac Mendez to Odessa, Texas after finding out that many of his paintings involved the murder of Claire Bennet. After an attempt at getting Isaac to paint without his drugs, a desperate HRG would have no choice but to exploit Eden’s power to get Isaac back on the drugs. In spite of all this effort, Isaac’s painting did not even help identify or locate Sylar. As a last ditch effort, Mr. Bennet grounds Claire from going out on the night of the Homecoming game, which is when Sylar is supposed to kill her. He also instructs Eden and The Haitian to be ready to capture Sylar that night.

When Sandra Bennet allows Claire to escape, not truly knowing that Claire could possibly die, a furious and distraught Mr. Bennet gets to the high school as fast as possible. Luckily for him, a man named Peter Petrelli was also aware of Sylar’s intentions and saved Claire from a likely death. Mr. Bennet later confesses to Claire that he had always known about her power, and that he knew she was going to be attacked that night. Claire doesn’t understand why he would withhold that information from her and Mr. Bennet tries to explain that it was for her protection. He warns her that there are other people out there that could harm her and orders her to have Zach’s tapes destroyed.

What Mr. Bennet doesn’t tell Claire is that over the next few days he would order the Haitian to wipe her friend Zach and her brother Lyle’s memories of Claire’s power and eventually have the Haitian come to wipe hers as well. However, the Haitian undermines HRG’s authority and does not wipe Claire’s memory, and asks her to keep this a secret.

Two weeks after the Homecoming tragedy, Mr. Bennet travels to New York to speak with Mohinder Suresh to try and recruit his assistance in finding "special" people who are included on "The List."

Actor Biography: Heroes is not the first time Jack Coleman landed on a top-rated drama series. For several years starting in 1982, Coleman was the second and longest-lasting actor to play Steven Carrington on the prime time serial Dynasty. Coleman continued with the role until the series ended. Other work commitments prevented him from appearing in the 1991 Dynasty reunion movie, so the role was again played by Al Corley at that time.

Coleman's other credits include Entourage, Without A Trace, Days Of Our Lives, and CSI: Miami. Interesting trivia: Coleman is a descendant of famed inventor Benjamin Franklin!
